Njihovo partnerstvo je u 1940-tim i 1950-tim godinama inkorporirano u tvrtku Hewlett-Packard (HP). Prvi financijski uspje\u0161an proizvod tvrtke HP bio je audio oscilator \u010diju amplitudu je stabilizirala mala \u017earuljica sa \u017earnom niti, predstavljen 1939. godine. Zahvaljuju\u0107i inovaciji sa stabilizatorskom \u017earuljicom njihovi oscilatori su bili bolji i stabilniji od konkurencije \u0161to im je omogu\u0107ilo prodor na tr\u017ei\u0161te. U 1940-tim godinama HP-ova proizvodna linija osim audio oscilatora, ve\u0107 je uklju\u010divala i valne analizatore, analizatore izobli\u010denja, generatore audio signala i cijevne voltmetre, a zapo\u0161ljavala je 200 ljudi. Danas je tvrtka HP jedna od najve\u0107ih svjetskih tehnolo\u0161kih kompanija sa preko 330 000 zaposlenih. Test set Marconi OA 2090B omogu\u0107uje mjerenje koli\u010dine \u0161uma i intermodulacije (preslu\u0161avanja) izme\u0111u telefonskih kanala pomo\u0107u &#8220;bijelog \u0161uma&#8221;, a HP 3710A IF\/BB TRANSMITTER je dio kompleta za ne\u0161to naprednije testiranje FDM sustava, i to onih koji su pripremljeni za slanje radio linkom. Za testiranje kvalitete telefonskih prijenosnih linkova (bilo \u017ei\u010dnih, be\u017ei\u010dnih ili opti\u010dkih) potreban nam je generator testnog signala na jednom kraju linka i prijemnik, odnosno analizator toga signala na drugom kraju linka. Mi smo ovdje nabavili samo genetaror (predajnik) testnog signala HP 3710A IF\/BB TRANSMITTER, a u kombinaciji sa njim predvi\u0111en je prijemnik HP 3702B IF\/BB RECEIVER koji zajedno \u010dine tzv. Microwave Link Analyzer (MLA). Naime, FDM multipleksirani telefonski kanali prije slanja na radio link (npr. prema satelitu) prema tada\u0161njim standardima modulirali su se valom nosiocem na 70 MHz, a zatim slali radio linkom na frekvenciji od 6 ili 14 GHz. Broj telefonskih kanala koji se multipleksiraju za slanje jednim linkom mo\u017ee biti razli\u010dit, u pravilu od 12 do 10800. Kao \u0161to smo opisali na gornjoj poveznici, kanali mogu biti me\u0111usobno multipleksirani vi\u0161e puta, na na\u010din da se stvaraju osnovne grupe od 12 kanala, a zatim se vi\u0161e tih osnovnih grupa dalje zajedno multipleksira u ve\u0107e grupe, pa opet te ve\u0107e grupe u jo\u0161 ve\u0107e. Jedan telefonski kanal zauzima \u0161irinu opsega od 4 kHz, osnovna grupa od 12 kanala zauzima 48 kHz, a primjerice Jumbo Multiplex grupa od 10800 kanala koja nastaje vi\u0161estrukim modulacijama \u00a0Super grupa i Master grupa zauzima \u0161irinu opsega od \u010dak 57,442 MHz. Naj\u010de\u0161\u0107i FDM standard odre\u0111ivao je maksimalnu \u0161irinu opsega od 30 MHz (obi\u010dno mje\u0161avina telefonskih, TV i podatkovni kanala), pa se uz centralnu MF od 70 MHz, ukupni opseg nalazio u podru\u010dju 55-85 MHz. Na\u0161 HP 3710A IF\/BB TRANSMITTER u stanju je proizvesti kristalom stabiliziran signal centralne MF na 70 MHz te sve ostale MF u frekvencijskom opsegu 45-95 MHz. Svaka MF mo\u017ee biti modulirana visoko stabiliziranim testnim tonovima na 83,3 kHz, 250 kHz i 500 kHz, odnosno bilo kojim NF tonom u opsegu 0,5-500 kHz. Na taj na\u010din generator FDM signala HP 3710A pokriva frekvencijski opseg i omogu\u0107ava testiranje prijenosnih karakteristika na opisanim standardnim FDM sustavima pripremljenima za slanje radio linkom. Prijemnik iz kompleta MLA oznake HP 3702B koji je predvi\u0111en za rad sa na\u0161im generatorom puno je kompleksniji od prijemnika iz kompleta Marconi OA 2090B i uklju\u010duje CRT monitor na kojem je izme\u0111u ostalog mogu\u0107e snimiti karakteristiku svake filtrirane MF. Kod generatora HP 3710A me\u0111ufrekvencija (MF ili engl. IF) dobiva se mije\u0161anjem frekvencija koje generiraju dva UHF oscilatora. FIXED OSCILLATOR radi na fiksnoj frekvenciji od 440 MHz i on se modulira NF signalom iz BB (Baseband) generatora testnih tonova HP 3715A. Drugi oscilator (SWEPT OSCILLATOR) mo\u017ee automatski stalno mijenjati svoju frekvenciju u maksimalnom rasponu od 50 MHz, odnosno radi u opsegu 345 do 395 MHz. Tako na izlazu iz mje\u0161a\u010da (MIXER) mo\u017eemo dobiti BB signal koji \u010dine modulirane MF u rasponu 45 do 95 MHz. U ovakvom dizajnu sklopova NF modulacijske frekvencije i sweep oscilator ne mogu do\u0107i u interakciju sa eventualno nelinearnom karakteristikom VCO-a pa intermodulacijske smetnje mogu nastati jedino u mje\u0161a\u010du i njegovom izlaznom poja\u010dalu. Intermodulacije u mje\u0161a\u010du su u pravilu neznatne no u izlaznom poja\u010dalu mo\u017ee do\u0107i do odre\u0111enih ka\u0161njenja signala \u0161to se onda izjedna\u010dava odgovaraju\u0107im linijama u stupnju GD EQUALIZER. Visoke UHF frekvencije oscilatora odabrane su zato da se dobije \u0161to linearnija frekvencijska skala unutar generiranog radnog opsega i da se \u0161to je mogu\u0107e vi\u0161e smanji mogu\u0107nost pojave smetnji, odnosno ne\u017eeljenih signala unutar frekvencijskog opsega (spurious frekvencije). \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\r\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/hp_3710a_if_bb_transmitter_27.gif\" rel=\"lightbox[5648]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5675\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/hp_3710a_if_bb_transmitter_27-1024x307.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"307\" srcset=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/hp_3710a_if_bb_transmitter_27-1024x307.gif 1024w, http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/hp_3710a_if_bb_transmitter_27-300x90.gif 300w, http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/hp_3710a_if_bb_transmitter_27-768x230.gif 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p>Stabilnost izlazne frekvencije osiguravaju dvije povratne petlje: AFC &#8211; automatska frekvencijska kontrola i ALC &#8211; automatska kontrola poja\u010danja. Za stabilnost frekvencije u AFC petlji koristi se tzv. Pulse Counting FM Discriminator. Radi se o sklopu koji za svaku periodu frekvencije bilje\u017ei npr. jedan pravokutni impuls. Ukoliko se frekvencija smanji razmaci izme\u0111u impulsa (duty cycle) \u0107e se pove\u0107ati, i obrnuto, ukoliko se frekvencija pove\u0107a razmaci izme\u0111u impulsa \u0107e se smanjiti. Pulse Counting FM Discriminator mo\u017ee biti osjetljiv na izrazito male promjene frekvencije kao \u0161to su na primjer neznatne devijacije frekvencije koje nastaju FM modulacijom nose\u0107eg signala. To se posti\u017ee tako da se nose\u0107a frekvencija konvertira u ni\u017ei opseg pri \u010demu modulacijska frekvencija (FM devijacija) i dalje ostaje ista. Kod ovoga lako mo\u017eemo zamisliti da \u0107e devijacija (promjena) frekvencije od npr. 50 kHz biti puno bolje izra\u017eena na signalu od npr. 500 kHz, nego na signalu od 50 MHz. Sada vidimo da naziv Pulse Counting FM Discriminator zapravo dosta dobro opisuje sam sklop jer se radi o svojevrsnom broja\u010du impulsa i FM demodulatoru. U na\u0161em slu\u010daju diskriminator je izveden kao izrazito linearan i temperaturno stabilni sklop koji onda kontrolira i linearnost sweep generatora jer je VCO sweep generatora prisiljen slijediti linearnu karakteristiku diskriminatora.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Automatska kontrola amplitude ALC uzima uzorak o veli\u010dini amplitude izlaznog signala preko spre\u017enog detektora i tim uzorkom se kontrolira atenuator (oslabljiva\u010d) izveden sa PIN diodama tako da na mje\u0161a\u010d uvijek dolazi signal jednake amplitude (ja\u010dine). Iako je unutra\u0161njost ure\u0111aja u vrlo dobrom stanju i koliko smo mogli provjeriti vjerojatno i elektroni\u010dki ispravna, vanjske mehani\u010dke kontrole poput sklopki i potenciometara o\u010dekivano su zakazale uslijed desetlje\u0107a nekori\u0161tenja, lo\u0161eg skladi\u0161tenja i neodr\u017eavanja. Ovakvu situaciju mo\u017eemo o\u010dekivati kod gotovo svakog elektroni\u010dkog ure\u0111aja starog 50-tak godina, pa koliko god on bio profesionalno izra\u0111en i konstruiran, i to bez obzira da li se stalno koristio (nastupa istro\u0161enost) ili je desetlje\u0107ima negdje skupljao pra\u0161inu (nastaje zape\u010denost, korozija, stvaranje nevodljivog sloja prljav\u0161tine na kontaktima, su\u0161enje maziva na pokretnim dijelovima). Najgore je \u0161to su ove komponente \u010desto specijalne izvedbe (pogotovo vi\u0161epolne sklopke) za koje je nemogu\u0107e na\u0107i adekvatnu zamjenu nego se mora poku\u0161ati neki priru\u010dni popravak bez garancije u kona\u010dni rezultat. Dodatan problem je \u0161to su komponente na prednjoj plo\u010di \u010desto i te\u0161ko dostupne za skidanje i testiranje. Na\u0161 HP 3710A odli\u010dan je primjer modularnog ure\u0111aja kod kojeg je pristup svim elektroni\u010dkim plo\u010dicama maksimalno pojednostavljen. \u010cak u unutra\u0161njosti nalazimo i dva adaptera preko kojih se svaki elektroni\u010dki modul mo\u017ee podi\u0107i iznad svih ostalih, tako da je lako dostupan za testiranje i sa strane vodova i sa strane komponenti, a sve dok je funkcionalno spojen sa ostalim komponentama. No \u010dak i u ovakvom modularnom ure\u0111aju, elementi na prednjoj plo\u010di zalemljeni su metalnim oklopima za prednju plo\u010du te je za dostup do istih potrebno rastaviti i odlemiti veliki broj dijelova. Svatko tko se bavi popravkom elektroni\u010dkih ure\u0111aja slo\u017eiti \u0107e se sa jednom \u010dinjenicom: ako je neispravna neka elektroni\u010dka komponenta na plo\u010dici to mo\u017ee zna\u010diti puno vremena za lociranje kvara ali je zato zamjena te komponente vrlo brza i jednostavna, no s druge strane, ako je neispravna neka elektromehani\u010dka komponenta (sklopka, potenciometar) stvar je obi\u010dno obrnuta: kvar se brzo locira ali zamjena \u010desto tra\u017ei puno vremena, strpljenja i \u0161to je najva\u017enije sre\u0107e u samom popravku ili nabavki
