Tvrtka se bavila proizvodnjom Hi-fi poja\u010dala, radio prijemnika i kalkulatora, a \u00a0dizajnirala je i jedan model TV ure\u0111aja, digitalnog multimetra i digitalnog ru\u010dnog sata. Naglasak kod dizajna svih ovih ure\u0111aja bio je posti\u0107i \u0161to manje dimenzije gotovog ure\u0111aja, te prenosivost i autonomnost u radu. Me\u0111utim, mnogi od Sinclairovih proizvoda nisu do\u017eivjeli komercijalni uspjeh, najvi\u0161e zbog tehni\u010dkih problema (baterijsko napajanje i visoka potro\u0161nja struje), problema sa nabavkom dijelova, nepouzdanosti ili visokih tro\u0161kova proizvodnje. Jedino je digitalni multimetar DM1 lansiran 1974. godine dobio neupitnu reputaciju pouzdanog i kvalitetnog mjernog ure\u0111aja.<\/p>\n<p>\u0160to se ti\u010de kalkulatora, Sinclair Radionics ih je proizvodio u razdoblju od 1972. do 1978. godine, a prvi modeli dobili su naziv Sinclair Executive. Kalkulator se napajao preko malih dugmastih baterija te je zahvaljuju\u0107i njima dizajniran kao tada najtanji i najmanji d\u017eepni kalkulator na svijetu. Da bi bili \u0161to tanji, kalkulatori serije Sinclair Executive imali su i poseban dizajn tipki u obliku malih gumenih \u010depova koji izravno priti\u0161\u0107u kontakte na kontaktnoj foliji. Zahvaljuju\u0107i lijepom dizajnu i inovativnoj kompaktnosti tvrtka Sinclair Radionics je na kalkulatorima Sinclair Executive ostvarila veliki poslovni uspjeh. Ostale serije Sinclairovih kalkulatora imale su naziv: Cambridge, Scientific, Oxford, Sovereign, Enterprise i President.<\/p>\n<p>Do 1977. godine britanski dr\u017eavni industrijski odbor NEB (National Enterprise Board) ve\u0107 je imao 73% udjela u tvrtci Sinclair Radionics, te je 1979. godine tvrtku prodao grupi ESL Bristol (Binatone) kao Radionic Products Ltd. \u00a0Clive Sinclair je podnio ostavku, a NEB je preimenovao ono \u0161to je ostalo od Radionics Products Ltd. u Sinclair Electronics Ltd. U sije\u010dnju 1980. ovo je promijenjeno u Thandar Electronics Ltd, a 1989. godine Thandar Electronics Ltd se spojilo s Thurlby Electronics Ltd, formiraju\u0107i Thurlby Thandar Instruments Ltd. Ova tvrtka sada posluje pod imenom Aimand Thurlby Thandar Instruments (Aim-TTi).<\/p>\n<p>Neovisno od tvrtke Sinclair Radionics, Clive Sinclair je u Cambridgeu osnovao i tvrtku Sinclair Research Ltd, registriranu za proizvodnju potro\u0161a\u010dke elektronike. Tvrtka je 1973. godine prvotno osnovana kao Westminster Mail Order Ltd, zatim je preimenovana u Sinclair Instrument Ltd, nakon toga u Science of Cambridge Ltd, pa u Sinclair Computers Ltd, i na kraju 1981. godine u Sinclair Research Ltd. Tvrtka je bila u mirovanju do 1976. godine kada je aktivirana s namjerom da nastavi Sinclairov komercijalni rad iz rasprodane tvrtke Sinclair Radionics. Prvo je 1977. godine lansiran kalkulator-sat koji se nosio na ruci Sinclair Wrist Calculator (Science of Cambridge). Iako se ovaj ure\u0111aj dobro prodavao imao je stari Sinclairov problem lo\u0161e kontrole kvalitete. Nakon ovoga slijedi serija Sinclairovih ra\u010dunala: MK14 (1977. godina), ZX80 (1980. godina), ZX81 (1981. godina), ZXSpectrum (1982. godina), Sinclair QL (1984. godina), ZXSpectrum+ (1984. godina) i ZXSpectrum128 (1985. godina). Osim ra\u010dunala, ponovno je 1983. godine lansiran model d\u017eepnog TV prijemnika oznake TV80 koji je ponovno do\u017eivio komercijalni neuspjeh, a 1997. godine proizveden je jednostavan model radio prijemnika ugra\u0111enog u slu\u0161alicu koji se nosio zakva\u010den za uho.<\/p>\n<p>Na vrhuncu svog uspjeha, a uvelike inspirirano japanskim ra\u010dunalnim programom nove generacije, tvrtka je osnovala istra\u017eiva\u010dki centar \u201cMeta Lab\u201d u Milton Hallu kod Cambridgea kako bi se bavila umjetnom inteligencijom i drugim naprednim projektima. Kombinacija kvarova ra\u010dunala Sinclair QL i televizora TV80 dovela je do financijskih pote\u0161ko\u0107a 1985. godine, a godinu dana kasnije Sinclair je prodao prava na svoje ra\u010dunalne proizvode i robnu marku tvrtci Amstrad. Sinclair Research Ltd i danas postoji kao tvrtka s jednim \u010dovjekom s ciljem o\u010duvanja naslje\u0111a izumitelja i inovatora Clivea Sinclaira.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_04.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"lightbox[11862] noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11866 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"661\" height=\"391\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sinclair ZX Spectrum+ je elektroni\u010dki identi\u010dno ra\u010dunalu <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crowave.com\/blog\/2021\/09\/14\/sinclair-zx-spectrum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ZX Spectrum<\/a> kojeg smo opisali u prethodnoj objavi, a razlika je samo u dizajnu tipkovnice i ku\u0107i\u0161ta. Tako je ZX Spectrum+ dobio tipkovnicu sa plasti\u010dnim tipkama umjesto gumenih kakve ima ZX Spectrum, a osim toga tipkovnica je pove\u0107ana sa 40 na 58 tipki kojima su pridru\u017eene neke nove funkcije. Ve\u0107a tipkovnica trebala je naravno i ve\u0107e ku\u0107i\u0161te koje je dobilo i novi dizajn tako da se ZX Spectrum+ izvana prili\u010dno razlikuje od ZX Spectruma iako su u oba ra\u010dunala ugra\u0111ene potpuno iste elektroni\u010dke plo\u010de. No ipak, zahvaljuju\u0107i novim funkcijskim tipkama pisanje programa preko nove tipkovnice zasigurno je u nekim dijelovima postalo lak\u0161e, br\u017ee i jednostavnije, a i sam osje\u0107aj tipkanja je donekle pobolj\u0161an bolje oblikovanim plasti\u010dnim tipkama.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_10.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"lightbox[11862] noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11872 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1509\" height=\"981\" srcset=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_10.jpg 1509w, http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_10-768x499.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1509px) 100vw, 1509px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_11.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"lightbox[11862] noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11873 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1143\" height=\"728\" srcset=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_11.jpg 1143w, http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_11-768x489.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1143px) 100vw, 1143px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kao \u0161to smo pisali u objavi za ZX Spectrum, postojalo je devet revidiranih ina\u010dica plo\u010de, a u na\u0161em primjerku smo zatekli ina\u010dicu Issue 3B. Ako usporedimo prethodno opisanu ina\u010dicu plo\u010de Issue 3 sa ovom Issue 3B vidimo neke manje nadogradnje:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>dodana je tipka za RESET memorije sa bo\u010dne strane ku\u0107i\u0161ta<\/li>\n<li>u krug ispravlja\u010dke diode DC\/DC pretvara\u010da (jedna dioda za pozitivno poluvalno ispravljanje) dodana je jo\u0161 jedna bypass dioda za premo\u0161\u0107ivanje negativne poluperiode na masu kako bi se pobolj\u0161ala radna karakteristika pozitivne ispravlja\u010dke diode<\/li>\n<li>ugra\u0111eni su dodatni elektrolitski kondenzatori za filtriranje napona napajanja<\/li>\n<li>ugra\u0111ena je nova pobolj\u0161ana ina\u010dica ULA \u010dipa (6C001E-7 umjesto 6C001E-6)<\/li>\n<li>osam \u010dipova osnovne RAM memorije od 16 kB (Lower RAM) su proizvo\u0111a\u010da Mostek umjesto Texas Instruments<\/li>\n<li>ROM memorija od 16 kB je proizvo\u0111a\u010da General Instrument umjesto NEC<\/li>\n<li>veliki broj pasivnih komponenti i dioda je druga\u010dijeg dizajna (proizvo\u0111a\u010da)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Vidi se kako zbog dodanih komponenti (dioda i elektrolitski kondenzatori) tiskana plo\u010dica nije revidirana ve\u0107 su ove komponente zalemljene preko postoje\u0107ih. Tako\u0111er se uo\u010davaju \u017ei\u010dane premosnice nekih to\u010daka na tiskanoj plo\u010dici, a sve ovo je zapravo vrlo karakteristi\u010dno za Sinclairove proizvode koji su se &#8220;u hodu&#8221; stalno revidirali, pobolj\u0161avali i popravljali. U kona\u010dnici, mogu\u0107e je i da prilikom usporedbe dvije plo\u010de istog tipa na\u0111emo neke razlike u elektroni\u010dkoj shemi, tipu i proizvo\u0111a\u010du komponenti te drugim prilagodbama.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_12.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"lightbox[11862] noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11874 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2379\" height=\"725\" srcset=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_12.jpg 2379w, http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_12-768x234.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2379px) 100vw, 2379px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Na\u0161 primjerak ZX Spectruma + jednako kao i prethodno opisani ZX Spectrum pati od neispravne tipkovnice (dio tipki nije u funkciji). Iako se ovdje tipkovnica puno lak\u0161e rastavlja ipak za sada ne \u017eelimo petljati po njoj jer su ionako male \u0161anse da \u0107emo uspjeti kvalitetno i trajno pokrpati lo\u0161e veze i kontakte, a uvijek postoji i mogu\u0107nost da stvari samo jo\u0161 vi\u0161e pogor\u0161amo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_08.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"lightbox[11862] noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11870 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_08.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1194\" height=\"203\" srcset=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_08.jpg 1194w, http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/zx_spectrum_plus_08-768x131.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1194px) 100vw, 1194px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Na TV ekranu dobivamo ne\u0161to \u010di\u0161\u0107u i stabilniju sliku nego je to bio slu\u010daj kod prethodno opisanog ZX Spectruma. Ovo svakako nije zbog pobolj\u0161anog video konvertera ili modulatora\u00a0 jer su ovi sklopovi na obje plo\u010de ostali identi\u010dni, vjerojatno nije ni zbog pobolj\u0161anog ULA \u010dipa, mogu\u0107e je da su kod ovog ZX Spectruma VF tranzistori u RF modulatoru jednostavno ne\u0161to bolji, odnosno kroz vrijeme im se nisu znatno naru\u0161ile originalne karakteristike poput strujnog poja\u010danja.<\/p>\n<p>\u010cest je slu\u010daj da se radi svojevrsna unutra\u0161nja restauracija ZX Spectruma gdje se mijenjaju svi elektrolitski kondenzatori, mijenja se naponski regulator 7805 nekom ina\u010dicom koja podnosi ve\u0107e struje i manje se grije, mijenja se folijski dio tipkovnice, mijenjaju se tranzistori suvremenim zamjenama, na izlaznu priklju\u010dnicu se dovodi kompozitni video signal itd. Time se ZX Spectrum osposobljava za ponovni du\u017ei rad. No uz postoje\u0107e (besplatne) softverske emulatore i dostupne programe i igre za ZX Spectrum ne\u0161to ovakvo mo\u017eda i nije uputno raditi, bolje je sa\u010duvati svoj primjerak Spectruma u originalnom stanju, osim naravno, ako ba\u0161 nikako ne mo\u017eemo odoljeti ru\u010dnom programiranju preko originalne ZX Spectrumove doista vrlo specifi\u010dne tipkovnice \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sinclair je za svoja ra\u010dunala ZX Spectrum proizvodio i nekoliko originalnih hardverskih dodataka (kontrolera) koji su se spajali na port za pro\u0161irenje:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>ZX Printer<\/strong> &#8211; Pisa\u010d za ZX Spectrum bio je takozvani &#8220;spark&#8221; tip printera. Koristio je posebnu vrstu crnog papira \u0161irine 10 cm kojemu je s gornje strane nanesen tanki sloj aluminija. Glava za pisanje je proizvodila elektri\u010dnu iskru koja bi na to\u010dkama zapisa spalila tanki sloj aluminija pri \u010demu bi se otkrila crna pozadina papira. Tako se formirao raster od spr\u017eenih to\u010dki na aluminijskoj povr\u0161ini. Rezolucija i kvaliteta ispisa je bila relativno lo\u0161a, no &#8220;spark&#8221; pisa\u010di su se bazirali na jednostavnoj i jeftinoj tehnologiji te su bili vi\u0161estruko jeftiniji od drugih pisa\u010da. Najve\u0107i problem je \u0161to mogu ispisivati samo na poseban elektro-osjetljivi metalizirani papir.<\/li>\n<li><strong>ZX Microdrive<\/strong> &#8211; Minijaturni kasetofon za u\u010ditavanje ili snimanje programa i igara za ZX spectrum.<\/li>\n<li><strong>ZX Interface 1 <\/strong>&#8211; Sadr\u017eavao je priklju\u010dak za spajanje ZX Microdrive pogona, priklju\u010dke spajanje vi\u0161e ZX Spectruma u lokalnu mre\u017eu, RS-232 serijski port i prolazni priklju\u010dak za spajanje drugih su\u010delja.<\/li>\n<li><strong>ZX Interface 2<\/strong> &#8211; Sadr\u017eavao je dva priklju\u010dka za upravlja\u010dke palice (joystick), priklju\u010dak za ROM module s igrama ili programima koji bi na taj na\u010din bili odmah u\u010ditani te priklju\u010dak za ZX Printer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Osim ovih originalnih hardverskih pro\u0161irenja, za ZX Spectrum je dizajnirano i na desetke drugih namjenskih perifernih dodataka (su\u010delja, pro\u0161irenja, kontrolera, me\u0111uskopova i sl.) koje su razvile i prodavale druge tvrtke ili bi bili izra\u0111eni u samogradnji. Mi smo za na\u0161 ZX Spectrum prona\u0161li originalni <strong>ZX Interface 1 <\/strong>te kopiju kontrolera za svjetlosnu olovku koji je razvila britanska tvrtka DK&#8217;Tronics Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ZX Interface 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ovaj kontroler je prvenstveno dizajniran za povezivanje vi\u0161e ZX Spectruma u LAN mre\u017eu (ZX Net) \u010dime bi se kreirao prakti\u010dni edukacijski alat za \u0161kole, u\u010dionice i sli\u010dno (u praksi je slabo za\u017eivio). Brzina prijenosa podataka je bila 100 kbit\/s, a moglo se uvezati do 64 ra\u010dunala ZX Spectrum pri \u010demu se jedno ra\u010dunalo moglo konfigurirati kao poslu\u017eitelj (npr. za dijeljenje pisa\u010da ili za prijenos podataka na sva ostala ra\u010dunala u mre\u017ei). Na ZX Microdrive priklju\u010dak moglo se paralelno povezati do osam ZX Microdrive pogona. Serijski RS-232 port bio je sposobno za rad do brzine 19,2 kbit\/s i u osnovi je bio predvi\u0111en za spajanje pisa\u010da ili modema.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a (Uncommitted Logic Array) ovdje pod oznakom LA15-302 (General Instrument). ULA sadr\u017ei kontrolere za ZX Microdrive, RS-232 serijski port i LAN. Desno ispod ULA \u010dipa je ROM memorija TMS 4764-35NL (Texas Instruments) kapaciteta 64 kB (8192 word x 8 bit) u koju je upisan softver kontrolera. Svjetlosna olovka (koju nemamo) nije ni\u0161ta drugo nego \u0161tapi\u0107 u obliku olovke na \u010dijem vrhu je postavljena foto-dioda, kablom spojena na uti\u010dnicu na kontroleru. Koristio se princip na\u010dina rada samog CRT ekrana na kojem se u jednom trenutku ispisuje samo jedna to\u010dkica slike (zbog brzine ispisivanja pojedina\u010dnih to\u010dkica i perzistencije samog ekrana i ljudskog oka dobiva se dojam pune slike na ekranu). Foto-dioda u svjetlosnoj olovci bi dakle bila aktivirana u trenutku kad zasvijetli to\u010dkica na onom mjestu na ekranu gdje je ista prislonjena, a ra\u010dunalo bi na osnovu standardne brzine ispisivanja svake to\u010dkice, retka, poluslike i slike ekrana izra\u010dunalo poziciju prislonjene olovke.<\/p>\n<p>Kontroler ili me\u0111usklop za svjetlosnu olovku je vrlo jednostavan i prakti\u010dki sadr\u017ei samo logi\u010dki krug SN74LS125 (\u010detiri neinvertiraju\u0107a bufera) dok sav posao obavlja softver. Originalni sklop je prodavala britanska tvrtka DK&#8217;Tronics Ltd koja se bavila proizvodnjom raznih perifernih dodataka za ZX Spectrum i Amstrad CPC, a tako\u0111er je izdavala i igre za ZX81, ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Commodore VIC-20, BBC Micro, Memotech MTX , MSX i Amstrad.<\/p>\n<p>Zbog jednostavnosti sklopa svjetlosnu olovku za ZX Spectrum kopirali su i drugi proizvo\u0111a\u010di, a na\u0161 primjerak je najvjerojatnije izradila splitska tvrtka P.N.P. Dovoljno je da jedan pored drugog postavite ZX Spectrum te neki Commodore ili Amstrad pa da odmah bude o\u010dito koje vintage ra\u010dunalo \u017eelite na svojoj izlo\u017ebenoj polici. Osnovni ZX Spectrum se danas jo\u0161 relativno lako mo\u017ee nabaviti preko razli\u010ditih internetskih prodaja, no originalni dodaci za njega mogu biti vrlo rijetki i skupi. Ako se jo\u0161 k tome tra\u017ei i potpuna ispravnost te kompletnost (ambala\u017ea i potro\u0161ni pribor) stvari postaju jo\u0161 rje\u0111e i jo\u0161 skuplje.
