Njihovo partnerstvo je u 1940-tim i 1950-tim godinama inkorporirano u tvrtku Hewlett-Packard (HP). Prvi financijski uspje\u0161an proizvod tvrtke HP bio je audio oscilator \u010diju amplitudu je stabilizirala mala \u017earuljica sa \u017earnom niti, predstavljen 1939. godine. Zahvaljuju\u0107i inovaciji sa stabilizatorskom \u017earuljicom njihovi oscilatori su bili bolji i stabilniji od konkurencije \u0161to im je omogu\u0107ilo prodor na tr\u017ei\u0161te. Danas je tvrtka HP jedna od najve\u0107ih svjetskih tehnolo\u0161kih kompanija sa preko 330 000 zaposlenih. Ogromni proizvodni program tvrtke uklju\u010duje gotovo sva podru\u010dja profesionalne i komercijalne elektronike, informatike (hardver i softver), telekomunikacija, elektri\u010dnih laboratorijskih i mjernih ure\u0111aja, audio i video elektronike i drugo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Broja\u010d frekvencije HP 5360A je op\u0107enito gledano bio konstruiran kao jedan od najpreciznijih i najbr\u017eih broja\u010da frekvencije toga doba. Izra\u0111en je prema najvi\u0161im standardima sa prioritetom na kvaliteti, performansama i preciznosti bez \u0161tednje na razvojnim i proizvodnim tro\u0161kovima. Cijena osnovnog modela u maloprodaji je bila 6695 USD, za time interval modul 5379A trebalo je izdvojiti dodatnih 1000 USD, a tipkovnica 5375A je ko\u0161tala 1570 USD. Time bi na\u0161 komplet ko\u0161tao 9265 USD, a u to vrijeme se u Americi primjerice mogao kupiti novi Fordov kamionet za cijenu ispod 3000 USD. Dana\u0161nja ekvivalentna vrijednost bila bi preko 75 000 USD. Naravno, ukoliko ste \u017eeljeli koristiti vanjske memorije morali bi izdvojiti jo\u0161 350 USD za diodne memorijske matrice ili preko 2000 USD za \u010dita\u010d bu\u0161enih kartica.<\/p>\n<p>Modelom 5360A na\u010dinjen je ogroman iskorak u mjernom rasponu, rezoluciji i to\u010dnosti mjerenja u odnosnu na prethodne modele broja\u010da frekvencije. To je postignuto implementacijom dvije posebne tehnologije:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recipro\u010dna metoda mjerenja frekvencije tehnikom interpolacije u ulaznom analognom dijelu (mjerenje vremena trajanja perioda umjesto broja frekvencijskih ciklusa) \u010dime je omogu\u0107eno postizanje visoke rezolucije mjerenja bez potrebe da se obra\u0111uje (broji) veliki broj frekvencijskih uzoraka signala.<\/li>\n<li>Digitalna ra\u010dunalna obrada i izra\u010dun rezultata kako bi se izvukla i 1000 puta ve\u0107a preciznost od one koje se mo\u017ee dobiti osnovnim analognim mjerenjima.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kod klasi\u010dnih mjera\u010da frekvencije, frekvencija se mjeri izravno jednostavnim brojanjem perioda u jedinici vremena. Broje se periodi (pretvoreni u impulse) ulazne frekvencije koji u zadanom vremenskom okviru (vremenska baza) pro\u0111u na broja\u010d. To\u010dnost mjerenja frekvencije ovisi o to\u010dnosti vremenske baze koju obi\u010dno proizvodi kvarcni oscilator. Kod boljih mjera\u010da frekvencije kvarcni oscilator je temperaturno kompenziran (TCXO &#8211; Temerature Compensated Crystal Oscillator) ili se nalazi u temperaturno stabilnoj komori gdje se grija\u010dem i termostatom odr\u017eava konstantna temperatura (OCXO &#8211; Oven Cotrolled Crystal Oscillator). Kod 5360A, kako \u0107emo kasnije vidjeti, ne koristi se kristalni oscilator ve\u0107 oscilatori sa operacijskim poja\u010dalima tako\u0111er smje\u0161teni u grijanu termostabilnu komoru. Me\u0111utim, osim pogre\u0161ke oscilatora, kod takvih jednostavnih digitalnih broja\u010da frekvencije uvijek postoji i tzv. pogre\u0161ka kvantizacije od \u00b11 znamenke. Ona nastaje zbog toga jer faza signala kojeg mjerimo nije sinkronizirana sa fazom internog oscilatora vremenske baze, pa ovisno na kojoj to\u010dki se ulazni signal &#8220;uhvati&#8221; na izlazu se mo\u017ee izbrojati jedan impuls vi\u0161e ili manje. Mogu\u0107nost ove pogre\u0161ke je to ve\u0107a \u0161to je ulazna frekvencija ni\u017ea, odnosno \u0161to je odabrana vremenska baza du\u017ea. Tako bi za ve\u0107u to\u010dnost (kao i rezoluciju) odabrana vremenska baza morala biti \u0161to kra\u0107a, odnosno interni oscilator biti \u0161to ve\u0107e frekvencije. Jasno je da \u0107e ovo biti najvi\u0161e nepovoljno za ni\u017ee frekvencije jer tu vremenska baza ne smije biti kratka, svakako ne kra\u0107a od vremena trajanja jedne periode ulaznog signala. Zato je za precizno mjerenje niskih frekvencija pogodnije mjeriti trajanje periode, a iz poznatog vremena trajanja periode onda se lako matemati\u010dki (recipro\u010dna vrijednost) izra\u010duna frekvencija.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/computing_counter_hp5360a_28a.gif\" rel=\"lightbox[14819]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14824\" src=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/computing_counter_hp5360a_28a.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"932\" height=\"567\" srcset=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/computing_counter_hp5360a_28a.gif 932w, http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/computing_counter_hp5360a_28a-768x467.gif 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 932px) 100vw, 932px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #00ffff;\"><em>Mjerenje frekvencije brojanjem perioda je najjednostavniji na\u010din mjerenja frekvencije, no to\u010dnost i najve\u0107a mogu\u0107a rezolucija mjerenja ovisi o frekvenciji ulaznog signala i frekvenciji vremenske baze. Tako\u0111er, uvijek postoji mogu\u0107nost pogre\u0161ke kvantizacije od \u00b11 znamenke kao \u0161to se vidi na grafi\u010dkom prikazu. \u010cak i kad je vremenska baza vrlo stabilna i uvijek istog vremena trajanja, zbog nesinkronizacije faza ulaznog signala i vremenske baze mogu\u0107a je pogre\u0161ka od jednog impulsa, odnosno jedne izbrojane znamenke. U prvom mjerenju obuhva\u0107ena su tri impulsa, dok su u drugom mjerenju obuhva\u0107ena i izbrojana samo dva impulsa iako je ulazna frekvencija kao i frekvencija vremenske baze ostala konstantna.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Recipro\u010dnom metodom mjerenja se umjesto brojanja perioda mjeri vrijeme trajanja perioda ulaznog signala. Tako\u0111er, za precizno mjerenje je dovoljna svega jedna perioda ulaznog signala pa rezolucija i to\u010dnost mjerenja ne ovise o ulaznoj frekvenciji.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Blok shema prikazuje prvu generaciju recipro\u010dnih broja\u010da frekvencije. Vidimo da ima dva interna broja\u010da. Jedan broji broj ulaznih perioda (ciklusa), a drugi broji impulse kojima se odre\u0111uje vrijeme trajanja tih perioda. Sinkronizirana logi\u010dka vrata simultano kontroliraju oba broja\u010da. Ovdje za razliku od obi\u010dnog broja\u010da, vrijeme trajanja mjerenja nije odre\u0111eno fiksnim vremenom trajanja vremenske baze nego vremenom trajanja odre\u0111enog broja punih perioda ulaznog signala. Kroz jedan broja\u010d \u0107e se propustiti to\u010dno odre\u0111en broj perioda ulaznog signala, a drugi broja\u010d \u0107e pomo\u0107u generatora takta mjeriti vrijeme trajanja te grupe cijelih perioda. To zna\u010di da se vrata otvaraju sinkronizirano sa ulaznim signalom, a zatvaraju se okidnim impulsom koje po\u0161alje brojilo kad se izbroji odre\u0111eni broj cijelih perioda. Frekvencija se zatim dobiva dijeljenjem izbrojenog broja perioda sa proteklim vremenom.<\/p>\n<p>Ovdje je va\u017eno primijetiti da rezolucija i to\u010dnost mjerenja ne ovise o ulaznoj frekvenciji jer je dovoljno mjeriti vrijeme trajanja svega jedne periode ulaznog signala da se ve\u0107 dobije maksimalna rezolucija mjerenja. Rezolucija i to\u010dnost ovdje ovise isklju\u010divo o frekvenciji i stabilnosti generatora takta. \u0160to je frekvencija generatora takta ve\u0107a, to \u0107e vi\u0161e impulsa sudjelovati u mjerenju vremena i mjerenje \u0107e biti preciznije (ve\u0107e rezolucije). Tako\u0111er, s obzirom da mjernim broja\u010dem uvijek dobivamo to\u010dan broj ulaznih perioda pogre\u0161ka kvantizacije od \u00b1 1 znamenke je ovdje isklju\u010dena.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Broja\u010d frekvencije 5360A, koliko smo mogli i\u0161\u010ditati iz dostupnih HP \u017eurnala, koristi naprednije metode recipro\u010dnih broja\u010da. To je recipro\u010dni broja\u010d sa analognom interpolacijom. Ve\u0107 smo rekli da rezolucija i preciznost recipro\u010dnog broja\u010da ovisi o frekvenciji generatora takta kojim se mjeri vrijeme periode. Ovo je posve razumljivo jer \u0107e u odre\u0111enom vremenskom okviru mjerenje biti to preciznije \u0161to je to vrijeme uzorkovano na vi\u0161e impulsa. Interpolatorima se na specifi\u010dan na\u010din zapravo zna\u010dajno pove\u0107ava ta osnovna frekvencija generatora takta, tako da se u kona\u010dnici dobiju puno ve\u0107e rezolucije mjerenja.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/computing_counter_hp5360a_28c.gif\" rel=\"lightbox[14819]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14826\" src=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/computing_counter_hp5360a_28c.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1094\" height=\"414\" srcset=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/computing_counter_hp5360a_28c.gif 1094w, http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/computing_counter_hp5360a_28c-768x291.gif 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1094px) 100vw, 1094px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Analognom interpolacijskom tehnikom pove\u0107anom rezolucijom mjerenja mjere se razlike vremena trajanja perioda izme\u0111u ruba ulazne frekvencije i po\u010detnog ruba (start) frekvencije generatora takta (referentne frekvencije) na po\u010detku i na kraju ciklusa mjerenja. Jednom kad se pove\u0107anom rezolucijom izmjere ti rubni (nepoklapaju\u0107i) dijelovi impulsa, kasnije je lako matemati\u010dki pridodaju preostala vremena cijelih referentnih impulsa izme\u0111u njih.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/computing_counter_hp5360a_28.gif\" rel=\"lightbox[14819]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14823\" src=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/computing_counter_hp5360a_28.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"880\" height=\"497\" srcset=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/computing_counter_hp5360a_28.gif 880w, http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/computing_counter_hp5360a_28-768x434.gif 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #00ffff;\"><em>Na na\u0161em primjeru se vidi kako je interpolacijskom metodom mjerenje nepoklapaju\u0107ih rubnih dijelova impulsa produ\u017eeno 10 puta, \u010dime smo dobili 9,3 puta ve\u0107u rezoluciju mjerenja nego bi to bilo sa periodama \u010distog referentne frekvencije. U praksi se interpolacijom vrijeme mjerenja produ\u017euje i do 1000 puta.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mjerenje tih vrlo kratkih rubnih vremena pove\u0107anom rezolucijom vr\u0161i se pretvara\u010dem vremena u napon pomo\u0107u kondenzatora. Kondenzator se u tom vrlo kratkom vremenu razlike linearno puni konstantnom strujom tako da je napon na koji se napuni izravno proporcionalan razlici vremena izme\u0111u dvaju rubova impulsa. Nakon \u0161to se kondenzator napunio (T1 i T2), slijedi njegovo polagano pra\u017enjenje tako\u0111er konstantnom strujom kako bi pra\u017enjenja bilo linearno (T1&#8242; i T2&#8242;). Na na\u0161em grafi\u010dkom prikazu mo\u017ee se uo\u010diti kako vrijeme pra\u017enjenja uvijek odgovara vi\u0161estruko ve\u0107em broju referentnih impulsa. Tako je po\u010detni (start) impuls originalnog trajanja 0,4 ciklusa razvu\u010den na \u010detiri puna impulsa, a zavr\u0161ni (stop) impuls trajanja 0,1 ciklus razvu\u010den je na jedan puni impuls. Time je rezolucija mjerenja tih malih segmenata referentnih impulsa pove\u0107ana deset puta. To pove\u0107anje rezolucije mjerenja zapravo predstavlja odnos izme\u0111u struje punjenja i struje pra\u017enjenja kondenzatora i mi smo ga ozna\u010diti konstantom Q. U praksi ta pove\u0107anja iznose nekoliko stotina pa i tisu\u0107u puta. S obzirom da izme\u0111u tih dijelova vremena imamo samo \u010diste pune referentne impulse, oni se onda lako matemati\u010dki pribroje rubnim vremenima. Tako se u kona\u010dnici dobiva Q puta ve\u0107a rezolucija mjerenja \u010ditavog mjernog ciklusa.<\/p>\n<p>Prednost analogne interpolacijske tehnike je \u0161to ne moramo raditi stabilne referentne oscilatore vrlo visokih referentnih frekvencija (reda nekoliko GHz) \u0161to je zahtjevno i skupo, ve\u0107 oscilatorima relativno niskih frekvencija posti\u017eemo rezolucije usporedive sa vi\u0161estruko vi\u0161im frekvencijama.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prema podacima iz HP \u017eurnala, osnovna frekvencija kvarcnog generatora takta (OCXO) je 5 MHz, no interpolacijskom metodom se dobivaju to\u010dnosti mjerenja usporedive sa taktom od 1 GHz i rezolucije mjerenja usporedive sa taktom od 10 GHz kod konvencionalnih broja\u010da (rezolucija je reda 100 ps, a to\u010dnost reda 1 ns). Kad smo ve\u0107 kod usporedbi, spomenimo i podatak da se zahvaljuju\u0107i recipro\u010dnoj interpolacijskoj i ra\u010dunalnoj metodi rada HP-ovog broja\u010da frekvencije 5360A, za vrijeme mjerenja od svega jedne sekunde dobiva ista rezolucija mjerenja za koju bi konvencionalnom broja\u010du trebalo vrijeme mjerenja preko 28 sati. Nadalje, zbog temperaturno stabilne komore u koju su smje\u0161teni oscilatori takta (OCO &#8211; Oven Cotrolled Oscillator), stabilnost tijekom 24-satnog razdoblja rada zadr\u017eana je u granicama ispod 5 dijelova na 10 milijardi \u0161to je nekoliko razina ve\u0107a to\u010dnost od tada\u0161njih najboljih mjera\u010da frekvencije.<\/p>\n<p>Najve\u0107a brzina mjerenja je 300 mjerenja frekvencije u sekundi, no na toj brzini maksimalna rezolucija je 6 znamenki. Prakti\u010dno gledano, HP 5360A mo\u017ee izmjeriti bilo koju frekvenciju u rasponu 1 Hz &#8211; 320 MHz u vremenu od jedne sekunde i sa to\u010dnosti od 1 dijela na 10 milijardi. To zna\u010di da \u0107e ulaznu frekvenciju od primjerice 1 MHz izmjeriti za jednu sekundu sa to\u010dnosti od 0,001 Hz. Bio je toliko precizan da se pomo\u0107u njega mogla izmjeriti udaljenost od Zemlje do Mjeseca s to\u010dno\u0161\u0107u od jedne stope (30,48 cm).<\/p>\n<p>Pomo\u0107u ulaznog modula HP 5365A mogu\u0107e je izravno mjeriti frekvencije kontinuiranih ili impulsnih signala u rasponu 0,01 Hz do 320 MHz, a sa dodatkom 5379A\u00a0 mogu se mjeriti vremenski intervali izme\u0111u dva signala sa to\u010dnosti od 1 ns i rezolucijom od 0,1 ns. Prikaz izmjerenih veli\u010dina je na digitalnom displeju sa 11 znamenki. Umjesto modula za vremenske intervale 5379A mo\u017ee biti ugra\u0111en modul za pro\u0161irenje frekvencijskog opsega mjerenja do 18 GHz.<\/p>\n<p>Sa dodanim programabilnim kalkulatorom 5375A mogu\u0107i su razli\u010diti matemati\u010dki izra\u010duni i prikazi rezultata u realnom vremenu. Tako se izmjerena frekvencija (period ili vremenski interval) mo\u017ee odmah prera\u010dunati primjerice u udaljenost, ubrzanje, brzinu okretaja, fazni kut ili stupanj, razli\u010dite relacije, devijacije, srednje vrijednosti i druge veli\u010dine ovisno o konkretnoj namjeni broja\u010da. Naravno izmjerene vrijednosti mogu\u0107e je odmah ukalkulirati u bilo koje matemati\u010dke formule, jednad\u017ebe ili programske kodove te na displeju dobivati gotove rezultate. Tipkovnica 5375A mo\u017ee se koristiti i kao klasi\u010dni matemati\u010dki kalkulator sa prikazom vrijednosti na digitalnom displeju.<\/p>\n<p>Ra\u010dunalni broja\u010d frekvencije HP 5360A uz odgovaraju\u0107e frekvencijske senzore i pretvornike mogao se prakti\u010dno koristiti za ogroman spektar razli\u010ditih mjerenja gdje je prioritet bio na brzini i preciznosti mjerenja, a zahvaljuju\u0107i kalkulatoru izmjerene vrijednosti prikazivale bi se izravno u adekvatnoj mjernoj jedinici. Sama tipkovnica 5375A mo\u017ee memorirati do 40 programskih koraka i nema mogu\u0107nost trajnog pam\u0107enja jednom upisanog programa te se on bri\u0161e sa isklju\u010divanjem napajanja. Stoga su se mogle koristiti razne vanjske memorije u obliku posebnih memorijskih diodnih matrica ili bu\u0161enih kartica. Njima se tako\u0111er mogao pove\u0107ati broj memorijskih koraka do 200. Program se sa ovih memorija mogao u\u010ditati preko posebnog programatora 5376A koji je tako\u0111er sadr\u017eavao svoju dodatnu memoriju, digitalne ulaze i izlaze, te analogne izlaze \u010dime je slu\u017eio kao su\u010delje (interface) izme\u0111u broja\u010da frekvencije HP 5360A i drugih vanjskih ure\u0111aja poput \u010dita\u010da bu\u0161enih kartica, printera, plotera, snima\u010da ili mjernih instrumenata.<\/p>\n<p>Podaci koje smo naveli mogu se na\u0107i u HP-ovim \u017eurnalima iz 1960\/70-tih godina, no osim osnovnih elektri\u010dnih specifikacija nema drugih blok ili servisnih shema ni podataka o ovom ure\u0111aju. Bez obzira na tehnologiju i cijenu vidimo da nema mati\u010dne plo\u010de sa tiskanim vezama, nego su moduli povezani o\u017ei\u010denim konektorima \u0161to je bio \u010dest na\u010din povezivanja modula u modularnim elektroni\u010dkim ure\u0111ajima iz 1960\/70-tih godina. Zbog takve konstrukcije, a i zbog same kompleksnosti ure\u0111aja, popravak i servis se ovdje svodi na zamjenu modula, a zatim eventualni popravak na takav na\u010din detektiranog neispravnog kruga. Rije\u010d je o aluminijskoj kutiji koja je izvana omotana grija\u010dom \u017eicom sa spregnutim termostatom. Tako se unutar komore stalno odr\u017eava konstantna temperatura. Iako je rije\u010d o svojevremeno vrlo skupom broja\u010du frekvencije, osim nekoliko specijaliziranih HP-ovih \u010dipova nismo prona\u0161li neke posebno specijalne komponente. No pozla\u0107ene tiskane veze, nekoliko stotina ugra\u0111enih integriranih krugova, ra\u010dunalo (kalkulator) i tada vrlo napredna tehnologija recipro\u010dnog broja\u010da frekvencije sa analognom interpolacijom svakako su rezultirali vrlo visokom cijenom ovog izuzetno to\u010dnog, preciznog i stabilnog broja\u010da frekvencije.<\/p>\n<p>Na\u0161 primjerak je o\u010dito pro\u0161ao neke procese popravka koji na kraju nisu uspjeli \u0161to i ne \u010dudi s obzirom na kompleksnost izrade i slo\u017eenost velikog broja sklopova od kojih se ure\u0111aj sastoji. No za utjehu, danas su ve\u0107 komercijalno dostupni mjera\u010di frekvencije sli\u010dnih i boljih karakteristika koji umjesto analognih koriste novije digitalne metode interpolacije ili druge (sli\u010dne) sisteme za postizanje ve\u0107e rezolucije i to\u010dnosti mjerenja.<\/p>\n<p>Op\u0107enito gledano, ukoliko u specifikacijama nekog mjera\u010da frekvencije na\u0111ete karakteristike tipa: to\u010dnost \u00b11 digit i rezolucija 1 Hz, gotovo sigurno se radi o obi\u010dnom broja\u010du frekvencije koji ne mjeri vrijeme periode nego zbraja broj perioda.
