Godine 1929. izvedeno je prvo uspje\u0161no instrumentalno polijetanje i slijetanje zrakoplova pomo\u0107u tehnologije koju je razvila RFL. Tijekom 2. svjetskog rata RFL je radio na razvoju elektri\u010dnih testnih i kalibracijskih instrumenata i ure\u0111aja magnetiziranje i demagnetiziranje. Takvi ure\u0111aji slu\u017ee za pretvaranje izmjeni\u010dnog napona konstante vrijednosti (mre\u017eni napon) u napon promjenjive vrijednosti i frekvencije. Izmjeni\u010dnim elektromotorima puno bolje se precizno regulira brzina vrtnje i zakretni moment pomo\u0107u promjene frekvencije, umjesto pomo\u0107u promjene napona.<\/p>\n<p>Na\u0161 RFL Model 250, prema oznakama na prednjoj plo\u010di, pretvara ulazni mre\u017eni napon 230 V \/ 50 Hz u izlazni napon podesiv u rasponu 0-150 V \/ 40-3000 Hz. Vidimo i da je oscilator 40 &#8211; 3000 Hz izveden kao zaseban modul. Vanjske dimenzije su 56x35x45 cm, a te\u017eina oko 55 kg. Jezgra mre\u017enog transformatora je dimenzija 108x87x153 mm, a jezgra izlaznog transformatora 172x77x153 mm. Jezgra prigu\u0161nice (vjerojatno u krugu stabilizacije anodnih napona) je dimenzija 95x75x118 mm.<\/p>\n<p>Maksimalne vrijednosti koje mo\u017ee podnijeti anoda tetrode 7378 su 825 V \/ 400 mA, no iz sigurnosti se ne prelazi 750 V \/ 385 mA. Pri tim vrijednostima je potro\u0161nja snage oko 285 W, a kad se oduzmu gubici maksimalna izlazna snaga iz jedne elektronke je 200 W. U tipi\u010dnim spojevima kada dvije elektronke 7378 rade zajedno, anodne struje su ograni\u010dene na cca 2 x 280 mA te se mo\u017ee izvu\u0107i izlazna snaga od najvi\u0161e 300 W. To zna\u010di da bi u najboljem slu\u010daju izlaz mogli opteretiti sa oko 2 A struje na punom naponu od 150 V. No izlazne cijevi vjerojatno ne rade punom snagom , te kad se ura\u010dunaju gubici u transformatoru izlazna snaga ovog izvora je mogu\u0107e i puno manja.<\/p>\n<p>Vidimo da je ulazni mre\u017eni osigura\u010d vrijednosti 10 A \u0161to zna\u010di da je potro\u0161nja ovog frekvencijskog pretvara\u010da oko 2000 W. To bi zna\u010dilo da cijeli ure\u0111aj radi sa vrlo malom korisnosti (2000 W ulazna snaga, 300 W izlazna snaga). Ovo i ne \u010dudi jer se koristi zaseban sinusni oscilator, a zatim sna\u017ena poja\u010dala da se dobije \u0161to ja\u010da izlazna struja. Princip rada dakle vi\u0161e odgovara NF i VF linearnim poja\u010dalima snage, nego dana\u0161njim frekvencijskim pretvara\u010dima za kontrolu elektromotora gdje se mre\u017eni napon impulsno modulira (PWM) za dobivanje razli\u010ditih frekvencija. Me\u0111utim, prednost na\u0161eg pretvara\u010da je u tome \u0161to se iz njega dobiva vrlo \u010disti sinusni napon. Stoga je namjena frekvencijskog pretvara\u010da RFL Model 250 posve sigurno bila testna, a ne pogonska jer ure\u0111aj ima malu energetsku korisnost (velike gubitke) ali zato \u010disti sinusni izlaz uz kontrolu pozitivne povratne veze oscilatora i negativne povratne veze poja\u010dala.<\/p>\n<p>Zanimljivo je da na prednjoj plo\u010di, osim kontrola za regulaciju visine i frekvencije izlaznog napona, postoji i uti\u010dnica te kontrole za povratnu vezu. Pozitivna povratna veza je naravno za oscilator, a negativna za poja\u010dalo, no ovako napamet ne mo\u017eemo pisati kako i kada se ove kontrole korigiraju.<\/p>\n<p>Vidjeli smo unutra\u0161njosti da su svi elektrolitski kondenzatori papirnatog tipa i nakon 60 godina zasigurno posve sasu\u0161eni. To nam ba\u0161 ne ulijeva hrabrost da testiramo ovo napajanje, \u010dak ni u svrhu nekog kratkotrajnog mjerenja ili snimanja izlaznog napona, jer su na sklopovima prisutni visoki naponi, jake struje i relativno visoke frekvencije. Svakako ne \u017eelimo izazvati kratke spojeve, eksplozije i sli\u010dne havarije na komponentama ovog ure\u0111aja ili na spojenoj mjernoj opremi.<\/p>\n<p>Tetrode snage 7378 mogu se koristiti za NF ili VF poja\u010dala, modulatore i oscilatore do frekvencije 30 MHz.
