Vizualno se radi o vrlo dobro o\u010duvanom magnetofonu bez polomljenih ili nedostaju\u0107ih dijelova. Magnetofonska traka je puknuta, a tome mo\u017ee biti uzrok nepa\u017eljivo rukovanje ili pak sama starost trake. Naime, magnetofonske trake kroz desetlje\u0107a polako gube svoja magnetska i mehani\u010dka svojstva \u010dime zapisi na njima gube kvalitetu, a mogu\u0107e je i potpuno osipanje magnetskog sloja sa iste kao i potpuni gubitak \u010dvrsto\u0107e i elasti\u010dnosti same trake koja onda lako puca i drobi se ve\u0107 pod malim mehani\u010dkim naprezanjima. Na stra\u017enjem poklopcu ure\u0111aja nalazi se tvorni\u010dka shema rasporeda elektronskih cijevi i tranzistora unutar magnetofona. Od elektronki tu su dvostruka ispravlja\u010dica EZ80, trioda ECL82 i dvostruke triode ECC82 i ECC83, te &#8220;magi\u010dno oko&#8221; EM84. S obzirom da ommetrom nije izmjeren nikakav otpor izme\u0111u kontakata mre\u017ene uti\u010dnice sve je upu\u0107ivalo na neispravni osigura\u010d, mre\u017enu sklopku ili u najgorem slu\u010daju primarni namotaj mre\u017enog transformatora.\u00a0 Skidanjem zadnjeg poklopca dobiva se pristup osigura\u010dima. Kapsula mre\u017enog osigura\u010da bila je u poluraspadnutom stanju i izgledalo je kao da je do prekida niti do\u0161lo od starosti, a ne od elektri\u010dnog pregaranja. Me\u0111utim, zamjenom osigura\u010da magnetofon i dalje nije davao znakove \u017eivota. Ommetar je sada pokazivao otpor od 60 ohma na kontaktima uti\u010dnice \u0161to je u granicama otpora primara mre\u017enog transformatora te je ure\u0111aj ponovno uklju\u010den na mre\u017eni napon. Na svim elektronskim cijevima katode su se za\u017earile, &#8220;magi\u010dno oko&#8221; zasvijetlilo je karakteristi\u010dnim zelenim sjajem\u00a0 i nakon nekoliko sekundi pojavio se \u0161um u zvu\u010dniku. Potenciometar glasno\u0107e zvuka je dodu\u0161e &#8220;kr\u010dio&#8221; i prekidao na nekim polo\u017eajima ali to je bilo i za o\u010dekivati od preko 50 godina starog potenciometra koji se i najvi\u0161e koristi u radu magnetofona. S obzirom da je sve upu\u0107ivalo da poja\u010dalo radi poku\u0161alo se pokrenuti traku, me\u0111utim, elektromotor nije okretao mehanizam niti u polo\u017eaju reprodukcije niti u polo\u017eajima prematanja trake. Prilikom poku\u0161aja uklju\u010divanja elektromotora \u010duo se karakteristi\u010dni &#8220;brum&#8221; iz istog, \u0161to je ukazivalo na tri mogu\u0107nosti: elektromotor je ispravan ali mehani\u010dki blokiran neispravnim mehanizmom; elektromotor je poluispravan (elektri\u010dki neispravan jedan ili vi\u0161e namota motora); ili pak je neispravnost u ostalim elementima u krugu motora (sklopka motora, otpornik ili kondenzator). Kad je ve\u0107 bila rastavljena sklopka je ujedno i o\u010di\u0161\u0107ena, te je zamijenjena jedna \u017eica na istoj na kojoj je uslijed zuba vremena do\u0161lo do o\u0161te\u0107enja dijela izolacije (otpornik snage u krugu elektromotora prili\u010dno se grije u normalnom radu te je montiran \u0161to dalje od ostalih komponenti, no za pretpostaviti je da je do starenja izolacije na dijelu vodi\u0107a najbli\u017eem ovom otporniku do\u0161lo upravo zbog pove\u0107ane temperature koju isti isijava u radu).\u00a0 Ostalo je provjeriti sam elektromotor magnetofona. Nakon skidanja sa \u0161asije i ponovnog testiranja motor je u praznom hodu odmah proradio, a to zna\u010di da je problem vjerojatno u mehanizmu prijenosa snage na kolute koji iz nekog razloga blokiraju motor. Naime, elektromotor s obzirom na veli\u010dinu i te\u017einu djeluje kao vrlo sna\u017ean me\u0111utim to i nije ba\u0161 odlika jednofaznih kaveznih motora, njegova je glavna prednost miran i tihi rad (ugra\u0111eni elektromotor ima snage od svega 2,5W i 5W u svoja dva moda rada). Snaga se prenosi sa osovine motora tarnim prijenosom na gumom oblo\u017eene zama\u0161njake. Vizualno je uo\u010deno da su sve gumice u dobrom stanju, a kod poku\u0161aja okretanja zama\u0161njaka rukom moglo se osjetiti kako otpor postaje sve slabiji te je problem blokade vjerojatno samo nakupljena prljav\u0161tina kroz godine (ili desetlje\u0107a) stajanja magnetofona van pogona. Stoga se cijeli ure\u0111aj uz malo truda (i mo\u017eda minimalno ulaganje) mo\u017ee vratiti u stanje kakav je bilo nakon izlaska iz tvornice. Jedan od razloga za\u0161to postoji ovaj blog je upravo taj; audio i video ure\u0111aji 50-tih i 60-tih godina kao da su napravljeni da traju vje\u010dno, a dizajn, mehani\u010dka rje\u0161enja i izvedbe u istima doslovno znaju biti fascinantna.
