Na svom vrhuncu bila je tre\u0107a najve\u0107a britanska elektroni\u010dka tvrtka, poslovala je u 110 zemalja svijeta i zapo\u0161ljavala preko 30000 ljudi. Od 1981. godine tvrtka Racal je bila mati\u010dna tvrtka britanske multinacionalne telekomunikacijske kompanije Vodafone\u00a0 (Racal Strategic Radio Ltd, Racal-Vodafone (Holdings) Ltd, Racal Telecom) sve do 1991. godine kada je Racal Telecom izdvojen iz Racal Electronicsa kao Vodafone Group. Tijekom postojanja tvrtka Racal je kupila tvrtke Decca Radar, Chubb Security, British Rail Telecommunications, Thermionic Products i Thorn Sensors Group formiraju\u0107i iz njih vlastite podru\u017enice. Od 1999. godine po\u010dinje prodaja Racalovih tvrtki tako da je Racal Electronics2000. godine kupio francuski Thomson-CSF (sada Thales Group). Godinu dana kasnije Racal Instruments je otkupljena od Thalesa i postala neovisna tvrtka, no ve\u0107 2004. godine kupila ju je tvrtka EADS North America Defenceand Test Services, Inc., koju je zatim 2014. godine kupila tvrtka Astronics Corporation. Krajem 2008. godine tvrtka Esterline Technologies kupila je tvrtku Racal Acoustics Ltd, koja je postala dio njihovog poslovanja sa komunikacijskim sustavima. Robna marka Racal sada pripada tvrtki Astronics Test Systems, podru\u017enici u potpunom vlasni\u0161tvu tvrtke Astronics Corporation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Racal Syncal TRA-921 mo\u017ee raditi na 6000 kanala u frekvencijskom opsegu 2-8 MHz (korak 1 kHz) svim standardnim amplitudnim modulacijama (AM, USB, LSB, CW). Izlazna snaga predajnika je 5-20 W ovisno o vrsti modulacije, a ista se mo\u017ee po potrebi reducirati na 1,5-5 W (HIGH\/LOW POWER). Primopredajnik se napaja preko internog Ni-Cd baterijskog paketa 18 V \/ 3,5 Ah ili preko odgovaraju\u0107ih ispravlja\u010da na akumulator vozila (12 ili 24 V) ili mre\u017enim naponom 110 ili 220 V. Predvi\u0111en je za rad sa \u0161tap antenom duljine 2,4 m, a u stacionarnom na\u010dinu mo\u017ee raditi preko \u017ei\u010danih antena (ugra\u0111en manualni antenski tuner sa indikacijom antenske struje). Ukupna te\u017eina kompleta TRA-921 u operativnom radu (primopredajnik, baterija, \u0161tap antena i torba za no\u0161enje) je oko 10 kg, s tim da sam primopredajnik te\u017ei svega 4,5 kg \u0161to se najvi\u0161e mo\u017ee zahvaliti plasti\u010dnom ku\u0107i\u0161tu i unutra\u0161njoj aluminijskoj \u0161asiji.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Primopredajnik TRA-921 se sastoji od dva konstrukcijska bloka: primopredajnika MA 924 i PLL sintetizatora frekvencije MA 920.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a Limiter \u010dine dvije antiparalelno spojene diode (diodni kliper, simetri\u010dni kompresor) koje ograni\u010davaju maksimalne amplitude signala na cca 0,7 V. Signal iz limitera se dalje preko poja\u010dala za odvajanje (bufer, emitersko slijedilo) vodi na balansni modulator. Ovdje se mikrofonski audio signal modulira sa frekvencijom 10,7 MHz. Kod SSB rada (USB ili LSB) modulator je balansiran te proizvodi zbroj i razliku dva signala (NF audio i 10,7 MHz) sa potisnutom centralnom (nose\u0107om) frekvencijom 10,7 MHz. Kod AM rada modulator je debalansiran te osim zbroja i razlike signala propu\u0161ta i nose\u0107u frekvenciju 10,7 MHz \u010dime se dobiva kompletni AM signal. Signal iz modulatora se dalje preko dvostupanjskog tranzistorskog poja\u010dala vodi na jedan od tri filtra (AM, USB ili LSB) ovisno o odabranoj vrsti rada. Kod AM rada kroz filtar prolazi signal koji uklju\u010duje nose\u0107u frekvenciju i oba bo\u010dna pojasa, a kod SSB rada nose\u0107a frekvencija je ve\u0107 potisnuta u balansnom modulatoru, dok se filtrima potiskuje i jedan ne\u017eeljeni bo\u010dni pojas. Filtrirani signal se zatim mije\u0161a sa kanalnom frekvencijom iz PLL VCO-a, te preko niskopropusnog filtra vodi na VF poja\u010dala. VF poja\u010dala se sastoje od tri stupnja: pretpoja\u010dalo sa dva tranzistora, push-pull poja\u010dalo i push-pull izlazno poja\u010dalo. Redukcija snage djeluje na VF bias pretpoja\u010dala i poja\u010danje DSB poja\u010dala. Poja\u010dani VF signal se preko antenskog tunera dovodi na antenu. Releji se koriste za TX\/RX preklapanje antene te kontrolu izlaznog stupnja predajnika kod pode\u0161avanja antene, nemodulirane telegrafije i TX redukcije snage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/racal_syncal_tra921_03.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[17130]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17133\" src=\"http:\/\/crowave.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/racal_syncal_tra921_03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"572\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #00ffff;\"><em>Mjerni instrument pokazuje antensku struju kada je preklopnik vrste rada u polo\u017eaju TUNE, dok u svim ostalim polo\u017eajima pokazuje baterijski napon. O\u010ditanja su samo orijentaciona. Kod pode\u0161avanja antene prati se najve\u0107i otkon kazaljke (najja\u010da antenska struja), a baterije bi trebalo puniti kada kazaljka padne ispod 50% otklona.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prijemnik (zeleno) je superheterodin sa jednim mije\u0161anjem i MF na 10,7 MHz. Mije\u0161anjem ulazne frekvencije i kanalne frekvencije iz PLL VCO-a izdvaja se MF na 10,7 MHz. Dobivena MF se zatim filtrira jednim od tri filtra (AM, USB ili LSB) ovisno o odabranoj vrsti rada. Filtrirana MF se zatim poja\u010dava u tri stupnja selektivnih MF poja\u010dala i vodi na produkt detektor.
