Tvrtku DOD je osnovao David Oreste DiFrancesco (inicijali DOD) sa poslovnim partnerom i glazbenikom Johnom Johnsonom. Isti su tvrtku 1991. godine prodali konkurentskoj ameri\u010dkoj audio elektroni\u010dkoj tvrtki Harman International Industries. Nakon prodaje David je pokrenuo vlastitu tvrtku Rolls Corporation. Tvrtka Harman je nastavila razvijati i proizvoditi nove DigiTech i DOD gitarske pedale. Po\u010detkom 2010. dodine Harmanov zaposlenik Tom Cram osobno je zapo\u010deo tajni projekt skunkworks kako bi o\u017eivio DOD i taj projekt je postao slu\u017ebenim tek kad je Cram pokazao svoje dovr\u0161ene prototipove u Harmanu. Cram je kasnije postao voditelj marketinga za DigiTech\/DOD i nastavio je raditi na novim DigiTech i DOD pedalama sve do 2018. godine kada je tvrtku Harman kupio Samsung. Tom Cram sada vodi vlastitu tvrtku za pedale pod nazivom Spiral Electric FX. Ure\u0111aj ne reagira na kontrole. Sva tri regulatora su podesiva (nemaju jednu fiksnu vrijednost) te ne mo\u017eemo znati koji su ispravni izlazni naponi iz istih. Izmjerili smo stabilna napone od 3,3 V na LM2575 te 3,3 V i 5 V na L1117. Prvi DSP iz ove serije predstavljen je 1983. godine (TMS32010) i tada je to bio najbr\u017ei DSP na tr\u017ei\u0161tu. Kasnije je razvijeno puno ina\u010dica ovog \u010dipa i koriste se kao koprocesor za digitalnu obradu signala ali i kao glavni CPU u nekim aplikacijama. Na\u0161 \u010dip spada u C5000 seriju, to\u010dnije VC5509APGE iz 2002. godine i dolazi u 144-pinskom LQFP (low-profile quad flatpac) ku\u0107i\u0161tu. Nema nikakve sumnje da je ovo glavni mikrokontroler koji procesuira sve vanjske digitalne kontrole i odgovoran je za indikacije i alfanumeri\u010dke prikaze. Bilo kakvo o\u0161te\u0107enje glavnog DSP procesora TMS320 te tri audio procesora AudioDNA je prakti\u010dno nepopravljivo. \u010cak i zamjena RAM memorija je upitna jer te\u0161ko da \u0107emo negdje na\u0107i zamjenski memorijski \u010dip koji se proizvodio prije 20 godina. Tako\u0111er, ve\u0107ina standardnih logi\u010dkih \u010dipova i operacijskih poja\u010dala je ovdje u najminijaturnijem obliku SMD ku\u0107i\u0161ta \u0161to se tako\u0111er te\u0161ko nalazi, a te\u0161ko se i mijenja bez specijalne opreme za odlemljivanje i zalemljivanje takvih \u010dipova.<\/p>\n<p>Glavni DSP procesor se ovdje sigurno du\u017ee vrijeme &#8220;kuhao&#8221; na gotovo 100 \u00b0C i te\u0161ko je o\u010dekivati da je to pre\u017eivio \u010dak i ako izvorno nije kvar u njemu. Ispravni rabljeni GNX4 se danas mo\u017ee nabaviti po cijeni 100-300 dolara \u0161to ga dodatno \u010dini neisplativim za ulaganje u popravak.<\/p>\n<p>Digitalni gitarski efekti pru\u017eaju ogroman raspon efekata i simulacija zvuka za gitare, lako se povezuju sa ra\u010dunalima i drugim digitalnim audio ure\u0111ajima, sadr\u017ee memorije za snimanja, miksanja i reprodukcije i uz sve to cijenom su vrlo pristupa\u010dni. Me\u0111utim, svi se oni baziraju na specijaliziranim DSP procesorima i ako tu do\u0111e do kakvog kvara vi\u0161e ih se ne mo\u017ee popraviti.
