Prema skali na\u0161eg instrumenta, izmjeni\u010dni otpor ili impedancija spoja elektroda treba biti manja od 5 k\u03a9 i to je vrijednost koju podr\u017eava ve\u0107ina elektromedicinskih ure\u0111aja, no ona za pojedine elektrode, ure\u0111aje i mjerenja mo\u017ee biti i ve\u0107a (do 30 k\u03a9). Na\u0161 instrument stoga ima skalu ba\u017edarenu za opseg cca 0-50 k\u03a9 \u010dime su pokrivene grani\u010dne vrijednosti impedancija za prakti\u010dno sva mjerenja. Neki elektromedicinski instrumenti imaju ugra\u0111ene vlastite krugove za kontrolu impedancije priklju\u010denih elektroda i ona se kontrolira kontinuirano tijekom \u010ditavog mjerenja. Kako bi se mogla mjeriti impedancija ili izmjeni\u010dni otpor, mjerni strujni krug mora se napajati izmjeni\u010dnom strujom. Prema dostupnim podacima iz prospekata za moderne mjera\u010de impedancija elektroda, nalazimo da naj\u010de\u0161\u0107e koriste sinusni napon frekvencije 1 kHz, a veli\u010dina amplitude odabrana je tako da ukupna mjerna struja bude reda nekoliko desetaka nA do nekoliko desetaka \u00b5A (ovisno o samoj impedanciji), dok mjerno podru\u010dje ovisno o modelu ide do 5 ili 10 M\u03a9. Ovdje treba uzeti u obzir da su podaci proizvo\u0111a\u010da o elektri\u010dnim karakteristikama ure\u0111aja obi\u010dno vrlo \u0161turi, a ako malo prolistamo znanstvene studije na tu temu nalazimo kako se koriste frekvencije i puno ni\u017ee od 1 kHz. Mi smo na priklju\u010dnicama mjera\u010da impedancije Oxford XI-1 izmjerili pravokutni napon frekvencije 19 Hz i amplitude ne\u0161to manje od 500 mVpp. Testiranjem smo utvrdili da instrument pokazuje ispravne vrijednosti otpora u cijelom opsegu tako da mo\u017eemo pretpostaviti da je taj mjerni napon ispravan. S obzirom na upotrijebljene ostale elemente vrlo vjerojatno da se ovaj mjera\u010d impedancije zasniva na diodno stabiliziranom oscilatoru sa Wienovim mostom, no za detaljniju analizu trebali bismo ipak iscrtati elektri\u010dnu shemu samog sklopa. Elektronika je odavno duboko prodrla u sve grane istra\u017eivanja, industrije i proizvodnje. Zahvaljuju\u0107i toj svestranosti i nevjerojatno brzom razvoju novih elektroni\u010dkih i informati\u010dkih tehnologija, jedan dana\u0161nji elektroni\u010dar, ma kako strastven i predan bio, u svom \u017eivotnom vijeku sasvim sigurno nikad se ne\u0107e susreti s najve\u0107im dijelom proizvoda elektroni\u010dke industrije. Pa ipak, sve te silne i nebrojene elektroni\u010dke ure\u0111aje dana\u0161njice i dalje uglavnom prate iste osnovne komponente koje su postojale i prije 50 godina, odnosno isti zakoni i principi koji su otkriveni jo\u0161 i puno ranije.
