Uz to ovaj pH metar ima digitalni prikaz izmjerenih vrijednosti preko pet nixie cijevi.<\/p>\n<p>Na prednjoj plo\u010di pH metra uo\u010davaju se tri vi\u0161eokretna potenciometra za kalibraciju sonde kakva susre\u0107emo kod gotovo svih pH mjera\u010da. Potenciometrom SLOPE umjerava se nagib linearne krivulje promjene napona na upotrijebljenim elektrodama sa stvarnim pH vrijednostima koje pokazuje ure\u0111aj.\u00a0 Potenciometrom ASYM. POT. (asimetri\u010dni potencijal) kompenziramo napon referentne elektrode na nulu kako bi se mjerio samo napon koji proizvodi indikatorska elektroda. Potenciometrom ISO ADJ. vjerojatno se vr\u0161i tzv. &#8220;isothermal intersection&#8221; popravak. Naime, u idealnim uvjetima potencijal na elektrodama kod neutralnih otopina (pH 7) trebao bi biti uvijek nula (pH 7 = 0 V). Napon na elektrodama zatim raste prema pozitivnim vrijednostima kako se pH vrijednost smanjuje prema pH 0, odnosno raste prema negativnim vrijednostima kako se pH vrijednost pove\u0107ava prema pH 14. No, razlike u temperaturi otopine mogu neutralnu to\u010dku pomaknuti tako da nula volti vi\u0161e ne\u0107e biti na pH 7. Ovim potenciometrom namje\u0161taju se naponski odzivi elektroda tako da se kod svih temperatura linije odziva elektroda (slope) sijeku u to\u010dki koja odgovara pH 7 = 0 V.<\/p>\n<p>Potenciometar za ru\u010dno namje\u0161tane temperature rastvora kojem mjerimo pH ovdje ima numeri\u010dku izvedbu. Ukoliko se koristi temperaturni senzor (Pt 100) korekcija temperature je automatska. Priklju\u010dnice za mjernu sondu (pH), referentnu sondu (REF.) i temperaturni senzor (Pt 100) jasno su ozna\u010dene na prednjoj plo\u010di. Kontrolama ispod digitalnog zaslona biramo vrstu rada mjera\u010da.<\/p>\n<p>Na stra\u017enjoj strani uo\u010dava se BCD su\u010delje za spajanje pisa\u010da. BCD\u00a0(binary-coded decimal) su\u010delja koristila su se na prvim digitalnim ure\u0111ajima 50-tih i 60-tih godina pro\u0161log stolje\u0107a za prijenos podataka sa instrumenta na printer, odnosno za bilje\u017eenje izmjerenih vrijednosti na papir. Uo\u010dena je odlemljena \u017eica na uzemljenju mre\u017ene uti\u010dnice koja povezuje masu mre\u017enog transformatora. Ime <em>nixie<\/em> zapravo je akronim prvog naziva za ove elektronske cijevi &#8211; eksperimentalni numeri\u010dki indikator (Numerical Indicator eXperimental: NIX-i), a kasnije se taj naziv vi\u0161e nije mijenjao. Nixie cijev je staklena cijev ispunjena plinom neonom (ili nekom drugim inertnim plinom) uz mali dodatak \u017eive, a unutar cijevi se nalaze elektrode: jedna ili vi\u0161e katoda od tanke \u017eice oblikovane u \u017eeljeni simbol i anoda od metalne mre\u017eice (tako da se kroz nju vidi) obavijene oko katode. Kad se ove dvije elektrode priklju\u010de na istosmjerni napon od oko 150V plin oko katode po\u010dne svjetlucati. U na\u0161em primjeru svaka nixie cijev ima ukupno deset katoda (svaku za jednu znamenku) napravljenih od tanke \u017eice i poslagnih jedna iza druge u cijev. Ove su cijevi pale u zaborav pojavom LCD i LED numeri\u010dkih pokaziva\u010da, ali su zbog svojeg romanti\u010dnog i nostalgi\u010dnog neonskog sjaja sada ponovno popularne u vintage-dizajnu komercijalnih naprava, prvenstveno digitalnih stolnih satova.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Za pH metar Philips PW 9414 nemamo nikakve korisne podatke, tako da \u0107emo na\u0161 pH metar testirati kao osjetljivi voltmetar (\u0161to on u stvarnosti i jest), a laboratorijski kemi\u010dari \u0107e sasvim sigurno znati \u010demu slu\u017ee i kako se vr\u0161e pM, pX i AMP.TITR. mjerenja.<\/p>\n<p>Napon sonde simulirati \u0107emo vanjskim izvorom reguliranog istosmjernog napona 0-1000 mV. Prvo su kratko spojene ulazne priklju\u010dnice mjera\u010da (priklju\u010dnice sonde) te je numeri\u010dki pokaziva\u010d pode\u0161en na nulu. Jednog dana, mo\u017eda se ove nixie cijevi i mre\u017eni transformator iskoriste za samogradnju nekog vintage digitalnog sata. S druge strane, nikad nije na odmet u elektroni\u010dkom labu imati u pri\u010duvi jo\u0161 jedan osjetljivi milivoltmetar.
