Poslovanje je zapo\u010dela proizvodnjom elektri\u010dnih \u017earulja, a 1916. godine Philips je proizveo i svoju prvu rendgensku cijev. Od 1927. godine Philips zapo\u010dinje proizvodnju radio aparata, a zatim i elektronskih cijevi. U 1930-tim godinama tvrtka ve\u0107 proizvodi medicinsku rendgensku opremu, predstavlja svoj prvi TV prijemnik te pionirski elektri\u010dni aparat za brijanje sa rotiraju\u0107im no\u017eevima (Philishave). 1963. godine Philips uvodi standard za snimanje zvuka na audio kazetu &#8211; Compact Audio Cassette, koji postaje globalni prihva\u0107en, a 1970-te godine obilje\u017eio je inovacijama poput \u0161tednih \u017earulja, opti\u010dkih telekomunikacijskih sustava, opti\u010dkog diska LaserVision i vrlo uspje\u0161nog Compact Disc (CD) sustava razvijenog u suradnji sa tvrtkom Sony. Sa istom tvrtkom je krajem 1990-tih godina razvijen i DVD sustav, a oba standarda do\u017eivjela su globalni uspjeh i najbr\u017ee rastu\u0107i proizvod za ku\u0107nu elektroniku u povijesti. Najupadljivije na prednjoj plo\u010di su velike i pregledne skale, po jedna za svako AM podru\u010dje i po tri za FM podru\u010dje, \u010dime je zapravo mogu\u0107e memoriranje tri radio postaje na FM podru\u010dju. Na FM podru\u010dju je mogu\u0107 stereo prijem i automatska kontrola frekvencije (AFC) kojom \u0107e se prijemnik sam podesiti na najja\u010di prijemni signal. Prijemnik radi sa me\u0111ufrekvencijama od 452 kHz za AM podru\u010dja \u00a0i 10,7 MHz za FM podru\u010dje, a izlazna snaga audio poja\u010dala je oko 2 x 6 W. Glede izlaznog poja\u010dala na raspolaganju su dva tonska filtra za pode\u0161avanje odziva niskih i visokih frekvencija i potenciometar za balansiranje ja\u010dine kanala. Ure\u0111aj \u00a0Philips 22RH886 ima vanjske priklju\u010dnice za spajanje magnetofona, gramofona i mikrofona. Preko spojenog magnetofona je mogu\u0107e snimati radio program i reproducirati zapis preko stereo poja\u010dala ure\u0111aja, spojeni gramofon koristi stereo poja\u010dalo ure\u0111aja za reprodukciju audio zapisa, a mikrofon se preko poja\u010dala koristi za snimanje na kazetofonsku traku.<\/p>\n<p>Na donjoj strani ku\u0107i\u0161ta nalaze se upute za va\u0111enje elektronike iz ku\u0107i\u0161ta, no \u010dak i uz te upute demonta\u017ea je prili\u010dno nespretna te zahtijeva puno pa\u017enje i puno mjesta na radnom stolu. Naime, tri osnovne komponente (mre\u017eni transformator, radio prijemnik i kazetofon) trajno su spojene zalemljenim vodovima te se moraju u kompletu izvaditi iz ku\u0107i\u0161ta povla\u010denjem kroz usku prednju stranu. Komponente ispravlja\u010da, filtra i stabilizatora napona nisu montirane na zasebnoj plo\u010dici nego su izmije\u0161ane sa komponentama poja\u010dala. Ovakav razmje\u0161taj rijetko sre\u0107emo kod elektroni\u010dkih ure\u0111aja na mre\u017eno napajanje. Tri tranzistora rade u FM tuneru (RF poja\u010dalo, oscilator i mje\u0161a\u010d), jedan tranzistor radi u oscilatoru za AM podru\u010dja, a tri tranzistora su zajedni\u010dka za AM i FM podru\u010dja kako slijedi:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BF194C &#8211; radi u stupnju mje\u0161a\u010da za AM ili kao 1. MF poja\u010dalo za FM<\/li>\n<li>BF194B &#8211; radi kao 1. MF poja\u010dalo za AM ili kao 2. MF poja\u010dalo za FM<\/li>\n<li>BF195 &#8211; radi kao 2. MF poja\u010dalo za AM ili kao 3. MF poja\u010dalo za FM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Naravno, da bi ovo funkcioniralo potrebno je za svako podru\u010dje prebacivati MF transformatore i druge pode\u0161ene titrajne krugove i filtre. Ovo pak zahtjeva upotrebu vi\u0161epolnih sklopki koje moraju besprijekorno funkcionirati kako bi ne bi bilo prekida, ne\u017eeljenih otpora i drugih pojavnosti vezanih uz lo\u0161e kontakte, a \u0161to bi uzrokovalo uno\u0161enje ne\u017eeljenih \u0161umova i prekida u prijemnom lancu.<\/p>\n<p>Uga\u0111anje frekvencije za AM vr\u0161i se paralelnom promjenom kapaciteta u krugu oscilatora i ulaznog RF filtra, a omogu\u0107ena je i fina promjena frekvencije potenciometrom u krugu oscilatora. Uga\u0111anje frekvencije za FM vr\u0161i se paralelnom promjenom induktiviteta u krugu oscilatora i ulaznog RF poja\u010dala.<\/p>\n<p>Nakon MF poja\u010dala slijede diodni AM i FM detektori te stereo dekoder za FM. Za demodulaciju AM signala koristi se dioda AA119, a za FM se koristi jedna od izvedbi ratio-detektora. Ovi detektori, zajedno sa zadnjim stupnjem MF poja\u010dala \u010dine modul u zajedni\u010dkom metalnom ku\u0107i\u0161tu. Stereo dekoder je matri\u010dnog tipa sa ukupno \u0161est tranzistora. Izveden je na posebnom modulu koji je zalemljen okomito na glavnu plo\u010dicu prijemnika.<\/p>\n<p>Izlazna poja\u010dala uklju\u010duju svega pet tranzistora po kanalu sa komplementarnim izlaznim stupnjem koji \u010dine germanijski tranzistori AD161 i AD162. Poja\u010dalo dobiva napon od 25,4 V \u010dime se posti\u017ee izlazna snaga od oko 5,5 W na 8 \u2126, odnosno oko 6,5 W na 4 \u2126 optere\u0107enja.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a razlikuju u frekvencijskim podru\u010djima koje pokrivaju prijemnici i dodacima poput kazetofona ili gramofona. Vidjeli smo da se radi o prili\u010dno jednostavnoj shemi tranzistorskog prijemnika, bez ulaznih RF poja\u010dala za AM i bez kristalnih ili kerami\u010dkih filtara za bolju selektivnost MF. Op\u0107enito, svi sklopovi predstavljaju dizajn karakteristi\u010dan za prve prelaske iz cijevne na tranzistorsku tehniku gdje se jo\u0161 uvijek \u0161tedjelo na broju poluvodi\u010da koji \u0107e biti ugra\u0111eni u sklopovlje.<\/p>\n<p>Na testu je na\u0161 primjerak Philipsa 22RH886 pokazao sve o\u010dekivane simptome neodr\u017eavanog radio ure\u0111aja starog preko 50 godina. Svi potenciometri &#8220;kr\u010de&#8221; i prekidaju te je potrebna njihova zamjena ili \u010di\u0161\u0107enje. Zvuk iz poja\u010dala je tih i pun bruma \u0161to ukazuje na lo\u0161e stanje elektrolitskih kondenzatora u filtrima napajanja i u krugovima izlaznih poja\u010dala (\u010dak se i vizualno mo\u017ee primijetiti da su elektroliti u fazi propadanja). Antena za FM, a posebice za AM mora biti jako dobro izvedena jer FM tuner ima samo jedan stupanj RF poja\u010danja, a AM niti jedan. Ostatke pogonskih gumica kazetofona nismo zatekli u unutra\u0161njosti ure\u0111aja \u0161to zna\u010di da je isto netko ve\u0107 izvadio vjerojatno u poku\u0161aju zamjene. Ukupno gledano, za popravak ovog ure\u0111aja potrebno je ulo\u017eiti dosta truda i zamjenskih komponenti, no krajnji rezultat nas vjerojatno ne\u0107e odu\u0161eviti, kako ni nekim posebno osjetljivim i selektivnim prijemom tako ni nekim posebno sna\u017enim i kvalitetnim zvukom.
