Na internetu nema nikakvih podataka o ovom ure\u0111aju tako da ostaje nepoznanica gdje se i za \u0161to se koristio. Manja poluga slu\u017ei za osloba\u0111anje mehanizma od ku\u0107i\u0161ta kako bi se on mogao djelomi\u010dno izvu\u0107i iz istog, a iz razloga da se dobije pristup rezervoaru tinte za mehanizam pisaljke. Zanimljivo je da ne postoji nikakav mehanizam koji bi crpio ili odr\u017eavao pod tlakom tintu iz spremnika. Sve je rije\u0161eno gravitacijom, tako da za ispravan rad ovaj ure\u0111aj mora biti u vodoravnom polo\u017eaju. Zato je kod transporta ili okretanja instrumenta potrebno isprazniti posudicu s tintom kako ne bi do\u0161lo do njenog nekontroliranog izljevanja. Na tiskanoj plo\u010dici uo\u010davaju se dva reda mjernih otpornika kojima se preko sklopke pove\u0107avaju mjerni opsezi voltmetra. Sklop sa operacijskim poja\u010dalom pak omogu\u0107uje mjerenje manjih napona. Voltmetar, izravno spojen na napon, ima puni otklon skale na oko 0,7 V. Tako se vi\u0161i mjerni opsezi od 3 do 100 V posti\u017eu preko mjernih otpornika, a opsezi od 20 i 50 mV preko naponskog poja\u010dala. Originalni papir vjerojatno \u0107e biti te\u0161ko i slupo prona\u0107i ali za potrebe testa poslu\u017eiti \u0107e komadi\u0107 obi\u010dnog papira izrezan na potrebnu \u0161irinu i izbu\u0161en potrebnim rupicama koje \u0107e sjedati u zup\u010daste vodilice. Za tintu se mo\u017ee poku\u0161ati upotrijebiti boja za printere ili crta\u0107i tu\u0161. Tada \u0107e se mo\u0107i izmjeriti brzina kretanja papira ispod crta\u0107e igle, te ispitati svi opsezi instrumenta nakon dovo\u0111enja potrebnog napajanja.
