Te\u017ei\u0161te poslovanja tvrtke bilo je vezano uz sustave elektri\u010dnog telegrafa. Svoju prvu podru\u017enicu u Austriji tvrtka S&amp;H otvara ve\u0107 1858. godine, a 1879. godine (tada ve\u0107 u sklopu tada\u0161nje Austrougarske monarhije) otvora i svoj prvi tehni\u010dki ured u Austriji (Be\u010d) pod nazivom &#8220;Wiener Technische B\u00fcro von Siemens &amp; Halske, Berlin&#8221;. Interes tvrtke bilo je na podru\u010djima telefonije, elektrifikacije i elektri\u010dne \u017eeljeznice. Godine 1882. be\u010dka podru\u017enica mijenja naziv u &#8220;Siemens &amp; Halske Vienna&#8221;. Ubrzo je prerasla u tvornicu za proizvodnju lu\u010dnih svjetiljki, dinamo generatora, sklopnih sustava i elektri\u010dnih kablova za potrebe elektrifikacije dr\u017eava Austrougarske monarhije. Jedan od ve\u0107ih projekata be\u010dke podru\u017enice tvrtke S&amp;H bio je dvostruki elektri\u010dni lift za uspon na vrh M\u00f6nchsberga u Salzburgu izgra\u0111en 1890. godine, a \u0161est godine kasnije ista be\u010dka tvornica izgradila je podzemnu elektri\u010dnu \u017eeljeznicu u Budimpe\u0161ti. Godine 1904. tvrtka S&amp;H u Austriji otvara podru\u017enicu pod imenom&#8221; \u00d6sterreichische Siemens-Schuckertwerke AG (\u00d6SSW)&#8221; sa te\u017ei\u0161tem rada na niskonaponskim instalacijama. Godine 1939. tvornica kablova pretvara se u dioni\u010dko dru\u0161tvo pod nazivom &#8220;Wiener Kabel und Metallwerke AG (WKM)&#8221;. Glede oznaka otisnutim na bakelitnim dijelovima ku\u0107i\u0161ta &#8220;Oe. Ms. ldr. 216, Tz. 1,2,3&#8221; (vjerojatno oznake patenata) i na magnetu instrumenta sa zakretnim svitkom &#8220;\u0182 CO47&#8221; nismo uspjeli prona\u0107i nikakve poveznice. Ovakvi d\u017eepni ommetri masovno su se proizvodili za njema\u010dku vojsku u 2. svjetskom ratu (1930\/1940-te godine) no jednako tako su ih koristile i civilne slu\u017ebe za vrijeme i nakon rata. Stoga se mo\u017ee na\u0107i veliki broj vrlo sli\u010dnih ina\u010dica ovog ure\u0111aja koje se uglavnom razlikuju samo po obliku loga Siemens &amp; Halske, a neki nose i oznaku modela LMP2. Postoje ina\u010dice vrlo sli\u010dnog ommetra i u drvenom ku\u0107i\u0161tu. Kao takav mogao se koristiti za ispitivanje elektri\u010dnih kablova i spojeva, transformatora, zavojnica, releja, zvu\u010dnika i sli\u010dno, a tako\u0111er i za okvirno mjerenje otpora u rasponu 0-5 k\u2126. Napaja se baterijom od 4,5 V (dana\u0161nja standardna oznaka 3LR12) koja se prvi put pojavila na tr\u017ei\u0161tu jo\u0161 1901. godine. Tvorni\u010dki podaci navode potro\u0161nju u kratkom spoju od cca 15 mA i to\u010dnost mjerenja od \u00b115%.<\/p>\n<p>Ommetar ima ugra\u0111ena dva \u017ei\u010dana otpornika na kerami\u010dkim tijelima koji su spojeni serijski sa stezaljkama, baterijom i mjernim instrumentom, a izmjerili smo im vrijednosti od 100\u2126 i 135\u2126. Kao takvi slu\u017ee za ograni\u010denje maksimalne struje kroz instrument, a prema njima je i kalibrirana skala ommetra. Serijski otpornici pospje\u0161uju i temperaturnu kompenzaciju promjene otpora svitka iako je njegov otpor svega 4,4\u2126 pa razlike u otporu nastale zbog temperaturnih promjena ne utje\u010du zna\u010dajno na to\u010dnost ovog pogonskog ili bolje re\u010deno indikacijskog instrumenta koji samim time nije ni namijenjen za neko precizno mjerenje otpora. Unutra\u0161nji otpor svitka samog mjernog instrumenta je 4,4\u2126 \u0161to zna\u010di da bi uz baterijski napon od 4,5V najve\u0107a potro\u0161nja na\u0161eg ommetra kod kratko spojenih stezaljki bila oko 18 mA.<\/p>\n<p>Ono \u0161to prvi put vidimo kod instrumenata sa zakretnim svitkom to je svojevrsni kalibracijski magnet koji se mo\u017ee pomicati po obrubu permanentnog magneta instrumenta. Pomicanjem tog &#8220;pomo\u0107nog&#8221; magneta zapravo se na odre\u0111eni na\u010din vi\u0161e ili manje deformira homogeno polje koje stvara &#8220;glavni&#8221; magnet unutar zakretnog svitka, a to slu\u017ei za namje\u0161tanje kazaljke ommetra na nulu (na puni otklon) kod kratkog spoja s obzirom na istro\u0161enost, odnosno pad napona baterije. Pomo\u0107ni magnet pomi\u010de se desnom stranom glavnog magneta i tako po potrebi poja\u010dava magnetski tok sa desne strane, \u010dime se kazaljka i kod manjeg napona mo\u0107i otkloniti do kraja na desnu stranu.
